https://www.dailycat.bigcartel.comI’m using a Chinese solid ink with a caligraphy brush instead of the liquid Higgins ink I’ve been usung for months. The solid ink has a different consistancy and is easier to direct with water, I can control the contrast a lot better with it. Meow.

This painting is one view of the many panoramic sights that can be seen from this hilltop monument. The house is open to the public and a fascinating way to spend 2-3 hours. Bring your paints. I painted this sitting hunkered down on a bench in the damp New York winter.

The woman, the man and both horses work in tight partnership to rope a calf while riding at a full gallop out of the shoot. It’s not easy, and there’s a lot more misses than successful roping of a running beast.
